Leon Dexter Bullard owns Metavive Fitness, Inc. and he is the author of Triumph At Last: Insights to Help You Improve Your Health, Wellness, & Weight Control Habits Daily Without Losing Your Mind. He has worked to help others perform their best since 2002. As a wellness adviser, fitness trainer, behavior coach, author, and speaker, Leon influences and helps others to enhance personal performance and gain optimal health.
Over his lifetime, Leon has pursued fit living continuously since his youth. A champion track runner, he earned local, state, and national championships before departing Decatur, Georgia to earn a degree at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. With a Bachelor of Science in Business in hand after four years as a student and track athlete, Leon sought to pursue a career. Seven years later he started Metavive with a mission to help people live rewarding lives. The meaning behind the company name is revealing. Meta means transform, change, or shape, and vi or vive connotes life. Thus, the company mantra, “shapes you to excel,” is fitting.
Currently, Leon resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife and three children. He still runs track as a USA Track & Field masters athlete; his recent success includes two 2011 Top 25 Masters Athletics World Rankings and eight All-American distinguished performances since 2005. He has served three terms on the Wake County Council on Fitness and Health, and has volunteered as a coach at athletic camps and youth track teams a few times since moving to Raleigh. He has been recognized as a USATF coach, certified personal trainer, fitness life coach, and a Toastmasters International award-winning speaker.
